Like most businesses, our community cafés had to close their doors during the lockdowns. But, despite this, they continued to be a well-loved asset in the community and adapted to provide vital support to their communities.
At the start of the pandemic, both cafés were turned into food distribution hubs, and delivered thousands of food parcels to those in need.
As restrictions eased and the community badly needed focus points and relief from lockdown tedium, our community cafés took every opportunity to safely support local groups and open its door for cups of comforting coffee and plates of delicious cake.
The Round About Café in Mansbridge, and Café 1759 in Whitehill & Bordon, also offer volunteering, training and employment opportunities to local people. They also provide a safe, welcoming hub for community activities. Both cafés operate on a not-for-profit basis, supported by invaluable teams of volunteers who consistently go above and beyond what is asked of them.
